A senior team, on purpose.
We started XProgrammers because too much software ships broken — and now, with AI-built MVPs flooding the world, the gap between a demo that works and a product that holds has never been wider.
Our answer is not new. It's a small team of senior engineers, a habit of reading before writing, and the boring discipline of shipping production-grade increments. We use AI where it earns its place. We don't ship things we wouldn't put our names on.
Four things we don't argue about.
These are the principles that decide what we say yes to, how we work, and what we won't ship.
Senior engineers only.
Ten-plus years average. No juniors learning on your codebase. The people on the call are the people on the commits.
Read before we write.
The first week is reading — the repo, the infra, the on-call channel. No heroics, no rewrites for sport. Just enough context to make the right call the first time.
Production-grade increments.
Small, tested, deployable steps — never big-bang rewrites. Every week something measurable is closer to done and visible in production.
AI where it earns its place.
We use AI to move faster, but humans own the architecture and the quality. The codebase has to make sense without the model in the room.
Small team. Short feedback loops. No theatre.
We keep the team small on purpose. A typical engagement is two to four senior engineers, embedded in your tools, your stack, and your cadence. We sit in your standups, write in your repo, and demo every Friday with whatever we shipped.
We don't sell time-and-materials with vague scopes. Each engagement starts with a written diagnosis and a milestone plan — the trade-offs and the price are on the table before we touch the code. If something changes, it changes in writing.
When it's done, you get the runbook, the tests, the docs, and the right to fire us. About half our engagements end that way; the other half roll into a quiet, long retainer because the team wants us to stay. Either is a good outcome.
